Job summary

Spectra Tech, Inc. is seeking an IT Support Specialist/Technician (level 1) in Los Alamos, NM to deploy desktops at about 700 stations and replace old equipment. You will set up PC hardware, thin clients, monitors, and peripherals, and maintain organized asset records.

Weekend shifts are required and on-site work is expected. Responsibilities include post-deployment support, documenting asset tags, serial numbers, and MAC addresses, and keeping the staging area clean and secure.

Qualifications

• Experience setting up PC hardware, thin clients, dual-monitor configurations and basic workstation peripherals.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and crawl under desks to route cables.
• Weekend availability (Friday to Sunday) required.

Responsibilities

• Remove existing monitors, thin clients, power strips, keyboards and mouse.
• Install new monitors, thin clients, power strips, keyboards and mouse for 600-700 thin clients and up to 2000 monitors.
• Record serial numbers, MAC addresses and asset tags; maintain accurate documentation.
• Unbox and set up new desktop/laptop hardware and peripherals at user desks.
• Provide on-site troubleshooting after deployment to resolve minor issues.
