Job summary

The University of Miami Information Technology & Systems Department is hiring a full-time Desktop Support Technician to provide technical user support for faculty and staff in Coral Gables, FL. This role focuses on desktop, network, and AV support, ensuring timely resolution of issues and high-quality customer service.

Responsibilities include hardware/software installation, AV setup for events, video conferencing support, and accurate ticket logging in ServiceNow, while adhering to university

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; CompTIA A+ or Network+ preferred but not required.
• 2+ years of relevant desktop support experience.
• Proficiency with Windows OS and Microsoft Office.
• Experience with AV equipment and video conferencing.
• Familiarity with IT security policies (MFA, disk encryption, endpoint protection).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tickets.

Responsibilities

• Serve as first point of contact for desktop and network issues.
• Provide quality customer service and timely ticket updates.
• Install, configure, and maintain desktop hardware, software, and peripherals.
• Support lectures, presentations, and conferences with AV and video conferencing.
• Log, track, and close Service Center tickets in ServiceNow.
• Assist with classroom technology and hybrid teaching tools.
• Ensure compliance with IT security policies and asset management.
