Job summary

The University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL is seeking a full-time Audio Visual Technician to support classrooms and events. You will install, operate, maintain, and repair AV systems including microphones, projectors, lighting, and recording equipment for live events and distance-learning classes.

Ideal candidates hold an associate degree, have at least 1 year of AV experience, and possess a valid Florida driver's license.

Qualifications

Associate degree in a relevant field required.
Minimum 1 year of AV experience required.
Valid unrestricted Florida Driver's License required.
Strong proficiency with AV hardware, routing, and signal distribution (HDMI/SDI/Dante).
Experience with unified communications tools (Zoom Rooms, Teams Rooms).

Responsibilities

Assists faculty and speakers with AV devices and presentation software.
Installs, configures, tests, and troubleshoots AV equipment in classrooms and events.
Provides live technical support for university events and distance-learning sessions.
Records lectures and guest presentations; edits and posts recordings as needed.
Maintains inventory of equipment and prepares user guides for staff and students.
