Mortenson is seeking a Design Phase Engineer I or II - Structured Cabling to support project leadership during the design phase, focusing on customer experience, financial performance, schedule, estimating and planning to ensure a smooth transition to construction. This role offers two experience levels, with compensation determined by experience and location; location in Minneapolis, MN.

The base compensation range is listed, with higher ranges for select offices based on factors like knowledge

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, Estimating, or equivalent field.
• Basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices.
• Microsoft Office, Project, and pertinent web application skills at an intermediate level.
• Active listening skills and effective communication including openness to diverse input and feedback.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Support and potentially lead EPC contract negotiations with customers, including ensuring scope and budget alignment.
• Assist with establishing and managing project budget and scope expectations and related communications.
• Craft and manage project schedules and milestones, holding team members accountable.
• Assist in regulatory approval and permitting process.
• Assist in the preparation of bid packages and contract manuals.
• Support bid analysis and subcontractor selection.
• Identify technical design and specification concerns and escalate as needed.
• Build relationships across diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.
• All other duties as assigned.
