Actalent in Des Moines, IA seeks a Design Manager to lead design activities across multiple projects, ensuring functionality, aesthetics, and cost control. You will manage programming, scheduling, and contracts while coordinating architecture and related design services.

With 3+ years of design experience and a licensed or licensure-eligible architect, you will supervise multi-discipline teams and travel periodically to project sites. This is a full-time, onsite role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture required.
• Registered Architect or able to licensure within 12 months.
• Minimum 3 years of professional design experience.
• Strong architectural design skills balancing function and aesthetics.
• Proven project management experience in design projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee design activities for development projects.
• Develop and supervise design programming to meet goals.
• Negotiate design-related contracts to support timelines and budgets.
• Create and monitor schedules for all design phases.
• Maintain design budgets while balancing quality and aesthetics.
• Coordinate design disciplines to deliver integrated outcomes.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into design strategies.
• Exercise independent judgment under leadership guidance.
• Support design across healthcare, residential, and multifamily projects.
