Job summary

ISG seeks a Senior Architect to lead the Iowa architecture team in Des Moines, owning growth, directing design from concept to completion, and mentoring staff. You’ll expand partnerships, pursue new business opportunities, and ensure design excellence across projects with strong budgets and timelines.

You’ll collaborate across ISG’s multidisciplinary network to deliver impactful, community-focused architecture while building trusted relationships with clients and teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional design experience and licensed to practice architecture
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree from an accredited architecture program
• K-12, Sports + Recreation and Government + Cultural, experience, a plus
• Ability to communicate ideas empathetically and visually through both written and verbal media
• Ability to represent ISG and clients in public forums
• Familiarity in Revit, Adobe Suite and Sketchup computer software packages
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task and participate with a variety of team members on different projects at varying levels of development

Responsibilities

• Lead the Iowa architecture team with ownership for its continued growth, development, and success while contributing to the broader direction of ISG’s architecture practice.
• Grow and strengthen client relationships by serving as a trusted advisor, understanding client needs, expanding existing partnerships, and identifying new opportunities.
• Lead project and design efforts from initial concept through completion, bringing strong architectural judgment and a client-focused approach to every project.
• Build and develop your team by attracting talent, mentoring emerging professionals, delegating meaningful responsibility, and creating opportunities for others to succeed.
• Own project performance, including budgets, work plans, contracts, quality control, and delivery while maintaining strong design standards.
• Leverage ISG’s multidisciplinary expertise to pursue innovative opportunities, collaborate across geographies, and deliver impactful solutions for clients and communities.
