Job summary

Siemens Mobility in Wendell, NC seeks a Design Engineering Co‑op for Summer/Fall 2027 to support power distribution systems and future grids technologies. You will contribute to new product development, model components, and assist in prototype testing in a collaborative environment.

The role requires on-site full-time work during Summer and Fall 2027, enrollment in NC State University coop, and proximity within 50 miles of Wendell, NC. Pay includes hourly intern wages and eligibility for 401K.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in mechanical/manufacturing engineering or related field.
• Strong basic knowledge of engineering/manufacturing principles and Excel proficiency.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and documentation.
• Must be enrolled in NC State University co-op program and local to Wendell, NC.

Responsibilities

• Support development and product care projects for new products and improvements.
• Measure and model switchgear to support design activities.
• Design and draft new mechanical components.
• Support prototype assembly and testing of material samples.
• Release parts into ERP for production use.
