Job summary

Siemens is seeking qualified Engineering Co-op students for a Design Engineering Summer‑Fall 2027 program at the Wendell, NC site. You will support development, measure and model switchgear, and draft mechanical components while gaining hands-on experience in a collaborative environment.

The role requires on-site availability for 40 hours/week during Summer and Fall 2027, enrollment in NC State's co-op program, and proximity within 50 miles of Wendell, NC.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing engineering or related field.
• Proficient in Excel and able to read/understand technical drawings.
• Willing to work on-site full-time during Summer and Fall 2027 (40 hours/week).
• Must be enrolled in NC State University's co-op program.
• Located within 50 miles of Wendell, NC; no relocation.

Responsibilities

• Support development and product care projects that contribute to new product development and product improvements.
• Measure and model switchgear to support engineering and design activities.
• Design and draft new mechanical components.
• Support prototype assembly, test object configuration, and material sample testing activities.
• Release parts into the ERP system for production use.
