Job summary

Quanta-Services is seeking a Design Engineer I to join our QISG transmission line design team in Missouri. You will support overhead line design, perform PLS-CADD modeling, line routing, and structure analysis while applying relevant codes and standards.

Responsibilities include drafting, redlines, calculations, and preparing joint use authorizations. Travel up to 10% may be required as projects demand, with a typical 40–50 hour workweek.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural or Mechanical Engineering.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, MicroStation, ArcGIS or similar CAD tools.
• Knowledge of design codes such as NESC, IEEE, ANSI, IBC.
• Ability to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Support overhead transmission line design including PLS-CADD modeling and line routing.
• Prepare joint utility use authorizations based on field data and redlines.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations and construction standards (NESC/IEEE/ANSI/IBC).
• Collaborate with engineers and project teams to develop solutions and modifications.
• Maintain detailed project documentation and engineering calculations.
• Work 40–50 hours per week with potential overtime.
