Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group seeks a Design Engineer I to support overhead transmission line design, including PLS-CADD modeling and line routing. You will work with AutoCAD, MicroStation, and ArcGIS to develop scalable drawings and ensure accuracy with engineering redlines.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in civil/structural or mechanical engineering, knowledge of relevant design standards (NESC, IEEE, ANSI, IBC), and up to 10% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Knowledge in AutoCAD, MicroStation, ArcGIS, or similar CAD tools.
• Understanding of design codes and standards such as NESC, IEEE, ANSI, IBC.
• Knowledge of engineering drafting and design principles.
• Ability to travel as necessary, up to 10% of the time

Responsibilities

• Support all engineering responsibilities related to overhead transmission line design, including PLS-CADD modeling and line routing.
• Utilize CAD software for scaled drawings and mapping.
• Implement engineering redlines with precision and ensure accuracy before finalizing drawings.
• Conduct engineering calculations such as voltage drop, pole loading, and sag‑tension assessments.
• Prepare joint use agreements based on field data and redlines.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations and construction standards (NESC, IEEE, ANSI, IBC).
• Maintain detailed project documentation and support engineering calculations.
• Work 40 hours per week, with potential for up to 50 hours and occasional overtime.
