Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an experienced Design/Build Design Manager to lead transportation infrastructure projects across the Midwest. You will drive design-build delivery, manage client relationships, and coordinate with our network of technical experts to deliver quality work.

Based in the Midwest or with a flexible hybrid schedule, you will mentor teams, recruit resources, and strengthen Jacobs' presence in cities like Chicago, Milwaukee, and Madison while ensuring on-time, on-budget project

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineer license with reciprocity in other states.
• Extensive experience on transportation projects with DOTs and strong local relationships.
• Proven project leadership on roadway, highway, and/or bridge projects.
• Experience applying AASHTO guidelines to transportation projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Willing to support multi-state pursuits and new delivery models.

Responsibilities

• Develop teams to pursue planning, consulting, design, and alternative delivery work.
• Serve as main client contact to ensure expectations are met.
• Oversee delivery of large- and mid-scale Design-Build and other delivery projects.
• Lead design teams and coordinate with stakeholders and subcontractors.
• Manage proposals, staffing, budgets, and project schedules to milestones.
• Provide construction-phase services including RFIs, submittals, and site visits.
• Mentor professionals and foster an inclusive, collaborative culture.
• Help recruit design resources to build Midwest presence.
