Job summary

ICON seeks an Assistant Project Manager in Austin to support its Design-Build team. The role acts as a liaison among design, engineering, and field operations during construction, handling submittals, RFIs, document control, schedules, and change management on projects using ICON's 3D-printed building technology.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in CM, engineering, architecture, or related field.
• 5+ years supporting design-build or general contracting projects.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, detailing, and technical coordination.
• Experience using Procore, Smartsheet, Bluebeam or equivalent for document control.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with proactive, detail-oriented mindset.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Fundamental understanding of construction cost management principles.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary conduit between design and construction to align information and priorities.
• Manage flow of RFIs, submittals, and design clarifications among architects, engineers, and field teams.
• Coordinate with Design, Structural, MEP and Print Operations teams to ensure constructibility.
• Track design revisions and distribute updated documents to stakeholders.
• Maintain project documentation including drawings, specs, RFIs, submittals, and meeting minutes.
• Support budgeting and cost tracking with procurement logs, trade buyout tracking, and invoice reconciliation.
• Prepare and update project reports, drawing logs, and PMO management tools.
• Ensure documentation is stored in ICON PMO systems (Procore, Smartsheet, etc.).
• Support schedules with design deliverables aligned to construction milestones.
• Assist field teams with interpreting drawings and verifying dimensions.
• Participate in site walks and quality reviews to address coordination issues.
• Identify constructability challenges and propose proactive solutions with PM/Construction Manager.
• Collaborate with Design, Construction, Procurement, and Print Operations for efficient delivery.
• Facilitate clear communication between internal and external stakeholders.
• Support closeout with as-built docs, warranty info, and turnover packages.
