Job summary

ICON is seeking a Project Engineer to support our Design‑Build team in Austin, TX. The Project Engineer acts as the primary liaison among design, engineering and field operations, ensuring seamless coordination during construction and adherence to ICON’s 3D‑printed building technology.

You will manage design coordination, submittals, RFIs, document control, schedules, and change management, assisting the Project Executive and Project Manager to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting design-build or general contracting projects.
  • Experience with design coordination and document workflows.
  • Proficiency with project management and documentation systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Cost management fundamentals.

Responsibilities

  • Act as primary conduit between design and construction teams to align technical information and construction priorities.
  • Manage flow of RFIs, submittals, and design clarifications between architects, engineers, and field teams.
  • Coordinate with ICON’s Design, Structural, MEP, and Print Operations teams to ensure constructible, accurate designs.
  • Track design revisions and ensure updated documents are distributed to stakeholders.
  • Maintain complete project documentation including drawings, RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, and change orders.
  • Support project budgeting and cost tracking with procurement logs, trade buyout tracking, and invoice reconciliation.
  • Prepare and update project reports, drawing logs, and other PMO tools.
