Job summary

ICON is seeking a Project Engineer to support our Design-Build team in Austin, TX. You will serve as the primary liaison between ICON’s design, engineering, and field operations, ensuring seamless coordination through RFIs, submittals, and documentation.

You will help manage schedules, budgets, and change management, while maintaining rigorous document control and communications with stakeholders, to deliver innovative 3D-printed construction projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CM, engineering, architecture, or related field.
• Five+ years supporting design-build or general contracting projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction drawings and coordination.
• Experience with Procore, Smartsheet, or Bluebeam for document control.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with a proactive mindset.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.

Responsibilities

• Act as conduit between design and construction teams to align priorities.
• Manage flow of RFIs, submittals, and design clarifications.
• Coordinate with Design, Structural, MEP, and Print Operations teams.
• Track design revisions and distribute updated documents.
• Maintain project documentation including drawings, specs, RFIs, submittals.
• Support budgeting and cost tracking with procurement logs and invoices.
• Prepare and update project reports and logs.
• Ensure documentation stored in PMO systems (Procore, Smartsheet).
• Develop and maintain project schedules aligning with milestones.
• Assist field teams with interpreting drawings and verifying dimensions.
• Participate in site walks and quality reviews.
• Identify constructability challenges and propose solutions.
• Collaborate with teams to ensure efficient delivery.
• Assist closeout with as-built docs and turnover packages.
