Job summary

ARCO Design/Build is seeking a Construction Design/Build Project Manager Intern/Co-op in Maryland. You will gain exposure to the full lifecycle of a project, from concept to final delivery, while collaborating with experienced professionals committed to your growth.

You’ll learn estimating, scheduling, permits, design meetings, reports, and on-site activities, preparing you for a future in construction within a top design/build firm.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited Civil, Mechanical, Architectural, Construction Management, Building Science, or Construction Engineering program (other related engineering majors considered)
• Driver’s License required
• Excellent verbal communication, attention to detail, and strong work ethic
• Co-op or Intern experience in construction preferred but not required
• GPA 3.0+ preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Gain exposure to full lifecycle of a project from concept to delivery.
• Learn estimating and takeoffs to describe proposals and assign dollar values.
• Assist scheduling for subcontractors and trades activities.
• Attend design meetings with owner and design team (engineers/architects).
• Prepare weekly reports and track action items.
• Shadow DBMs in project calls and site meetings.
• Assist with buyout, subcontracts, and bid proposals.
• Complete and submit permits to city/county/fire authorities.
• Review shop drawings and submittals with DBMs.
• Learn subcontracting processes, change orders, and pay applications.
• Visit job sites with DBMs to monitor progress.

Education

Civil/Mechanical/Architectural/Construction Management/Building Science/Construction Engineering program

Driver's License

Excellent verbal communication

Attention to detail

Strong work ethic

Co-op or Intern experience in construction (preferred)

GPA 3.0 or higher (preferred)
