Job summary

ARCO Design/Build is seeking a Construction Design/Build Project Manager Intern/Co-op to gain hands-on exposure across the full project lifecycle. You will work with seasoned professionals and participate in concept through delivery stages, gaining practical skills in estimating, scheduling, design meetings, and on-site collaboration.

This internship emphasizes mentorship, professional development, and real project impact within a top national design/build firm.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
• Previous co‑op or intern experience in construction preferred, but not required.
• GPA 3.0 or higher preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Concept to Completion: learn project lifecycle from concept through delivery.
• Estimating and takeoffs: describe proposals and assign values.
• Scheduling: create timelines for subcontractors and trades.
• Design meetings: attend with owner and design team.
• Reporting: prepare weekly progress reports and action items.
• Shadowing: join calls and site meetings to observe leadership.
• Buyout: assist with bid instructions and subcontract awards.
• Permitting: submit permit applications with required documents.
• Shop drawing & submittal review: route submissions and approvals.
• Billing: learn about subcontracts and pay applications.
• Job site visits: observe progress with DBMs.
• Training & learning: off-site trainings and bi-weekly sessions.
• Business development: exposure to client relationships and strategies.
