Huitt-Zollars seeks a Civil Engineering Design Build Leader – Vice President Principal in Charge in the Dallas area. The PIC will lead complex transportation and federal alternative delivery pursuits and projects, serving as the Project Manager during pursuit and overseeing delivery through design and construction support.

This role requires a PE license, BSCE, and 15+ years in transportation design, with strong leadership, risk, and contract management capabilities to drive profitability and

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of transportation design experience.
• Minimum 10 years as Project Manager/Deputy PM for large transportation design-build projects (> $500M).
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE).
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary transportation/federal design teams in alternative delivery environments.
• Experience with Quality Control / Quality Assurance on large infrastructure projects.
• Strong financial and contract management abilities including forecasting and staffing.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of the design and construction support services, including contractual obligations, quality, change management, and budget adherence.
• Provide full managerial responsibility for project scope, schedule, design, quality, and staffing.
• Ensure compliance with contracts and exercise cost controls to realize approved designs within budget.
• Develop and mentor less experienced staff.
• Support growth initiatives and pursue strategic opportunities.
