Job summary

Georgia Power Company is seeking a DERMS Engineer/Analyst to support the deployment and integration of Grid and Edge DERMS across IT/OT platforms. The role involves developing dashboards, testing model inputs, and coordinating with engineering, operations, IT, and vendor teams to ensure accurate DERMS outputs.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in GIS, SCADA, ADMS, and DERMS data exchanges, plus proficiency in Python, SQL, and PowerBI.

Qualifications

• This role requires a BS/BA or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, GIS, Data Analytics, MIS, or related field.
• 5+ years of utility operations, GIS/modeling, OT/IT domains, data analytics, or enterprise application support.
• Experience with GIS, SCADA, ADMS, DERMS, model management, asset data, and interconnection systems.
• Experience with CIM/XML/JSON data exchanges and model validation processes.
• Proficiency with Python, SQL, PowerBI; familiarity with Azure Databricks and geospatial analysis.

Responsibilities

• Support integration between DERMS, ADMS, GIS, SCADA, AMI, CIS, DER interconnection and vendor systems.
• Test and troubleshoot DERMS results in forecasting, optimization, and monitoring; validate model inputs and telemetry.
• Create test cases, regression checks, and defect documentation for vendor and internal teams.
• Collaborate with distribution planning, IT/OT, vendors to resolve defects and improve operations.
• Assist with DERMS model build, data conversion from CIM/XML/JSON, scene topology, and program parameters.
• Maintain model readiness by identifying topology errors, stale attributes, and data discrepancies.
• Coordinate improvements across GIS, SCADA, ADMS, and DERMS Model Manager; support governance.
