Job summary

Georgia Power seeks a DERMS Operations Specialist to lead real-time integration of distributed energy resources on the electric distribution system. You will coordinate with Bulk Power, Fleet, and other stakeholders to optimize DER dispatch, while developing interfaces and tools for Phase II of DERMS implementation.

Role requires strong knowledge of distribution operations, five years of power-delivery experience, and the ability to train teams on DERMS tools.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in power delivery.
• Distribution or Transmission Control Center experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience preferred.
• Experience with renewables, storage, and analytics is a plus.
• Experience in data validation and alarm management is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain visibility and optimization of the distribution system through dispatching DER resources and evaluating plans based on generation and load forecasts.
• Provide subject matter expertise on utility grid switching and operations and train on tools and processes.
• Test and troubleshoot DERMS results by validating inputs, topology, telemetry, and constraints.
• Create test cases, UAT scripts, regression checks, issue logs, and defect documentation.
• Recommend interface improvements and develop tools, processes, and resource interconnections.
• Support integration between DERMS, ADMS, GIS, SCADA, AMI, CIS, and vendor applications.
• Participate in storm restoration and post-event troubleshooting.
