Attractivate Consulting Solutions seeks a DERMS Integration Engineer to support the design, deployment, and integration of Distributed Energy Resource Management Systems for utility clients in Houston, TX. You will help manage solar, storage, and other distributed resources on the grid.
Responsibilities include configuring DERMS with ADMS/SCADA, supporting hosting capacity analyses, defining visibility and dispatch requirements, and documenting interfaces and procedures.
As DER adoption accelerates across utility service territories, we're seeking a DERMS Integration Engineer to support the design, deployment, and integration of Distributed Energy Resource Management Systems. You'll help utility clients manage the growing mix of solar, storage, and other distributed resources on their grid.
Configure and integrate DERMS platforms with ADMS, SCADA, and DER aggregator/utility communication protocols (IEEE 2030.5, DNP3, OpenADR). Support interconnection studies and hosting capacity analysis workstreams. Work with utility engineering teams to define DER visibility, control, and dispatch requirements. Build and validate data exchange between DERMS and metering, GIS, and outage systems. Support testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of DERMS integrations. Document system architecture, interfaces, and operational procedures.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. 3+ years of experience in utility systems engineering, grid integration, or DER-related roles. Familiarity with DER communication protocols and grid-edge technologies. Understanding of distribution system operations and power flow fundamentals. Strong analytical and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Direct experience with a DERMS platform (AutoGrid, Smarter Grid Solutions, GE, Survalent, or similar). Knowledge of interconnection standards (IEEE 1547) and hosting capacity analysis. Experience with solar, storage, or EV charging integration projects. Utility or energy consulting background.
