Job summary

Qualifications

• One (1)+ year experience in a medical setting, required
• Dermatology surgery experience preferred
• Thorough knowledge of medical terminology
• Knowledge of sterile technique, anatomy, and medications
• Proficiency with EMA, Excel, Outlook and EHR systems
• Able to communicate in English clearly
• Strong attention to detail and reliability
• Excellent interpersonal skills to support patient experience

Responsibilities

• Serve as patient advocate during exams, surgery and treatment
• Interview surgery patients to obtain medical information
• Measure vital signs, weight and height
• Prepare patients for examination and operative rooms
• Review surgical informed consent with the patient prior to procedure
• Record medical history, medications, allergies and vitals in EHR
• Set up sterile surgical tray and maintain sterile field
• Assist physician during surgery with instruments and sutures
• Explain procedures, medications and wound care to patients
• Explain and comfort patients regarding healing times
• Schedule appointments for Mohs surgery and clinic visits
• Clean and organize treatment rooms and properly dispose of waste
