Job summary

DOCS Dermatology Group is seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to support clinicians and patients in a fast-paced dermatology setting. The role involves medical history collection, EHR data entry, patient transport, and assisting physicians during exams and procedures.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, prior medical office experience, and familiarity with HIPAA, ICD-10, CPT coding, and EMR systems. Travel may be required in some offices within the network.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent certificate.
• Experience in medical office preferred.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient information by interviewing patient, recording medical history and purpose of visit.
• Enter medical history and visit information into EHR.
• Escort patients to exam room.
• Assist physician during examinations and procedures.
• Phone in prescriptions to pharmacies and schedule procedures.
• Take photographs and perform phlebotomy as needed.
• Change wound dressings and remove sutures.
• Collect and package lab specimens for transport.
• Sterilize medical instruments and keep supplies stocked.
• Complete phone triage and communicate pathology/lab results.
