Job summary

University Health is seeking a Clinic Access and Scheduling Coordinator for Independence Clinic to manage patient scheduling, data collection, and financial verification for dermatology clinic visits.

The role requires strong communication, medical terminology knowledge, and experience training staff. This full-time on-site position supports front-line patient access and clinic operations located at the Independence Clinic, UH1 Kansas City, MO.

Qualifications

• Experience in appointment scheduling for medical procedures.
• Experience with direct patient contact.
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
• Strong written and verbal communication with hospital staff and physicians.
• Experience mentoring and/or training staff.
• Proficient in use of computer hardware and software.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients to collect demographic and financial data for access to clinical and financial systems.
• Verifies financial and insurance information and obtains pre-certifications/authorizations for referrals.
• Maintains organization of appointment schedules and handles clinic check-ins.
• Leads PASR I and II staff, coaches, and assists supervisors with productivity and quality monitoring.
