Job summary

UNC Health Care is seeking a Care Access Representative for the UNC Dermatology Department in Chapel Hill. This full-time hybrid role assists patients in accessing timely care, supporting providers, clinical staff, and operational workflows across dermatology subspecialties.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of customer service or clerical experience. Typical hours are Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m., with onsite work every other month and a hybrid schedule

Qualifications

• One year of customer service and/or clerical experience.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Ensures excellent customer service in a busy, high-call environment with a positive, professional demeanor.
• Verifies key patient information (insurance, demographics) to ensure safety, charging, coding, and billing accuracy.
• Answers phones, directs calls, places outbound calls, and documents encounters in Epic.
• Schedules new and follow-up appointments for clinics and reschedules when possible.
• Supports co-workers and completes other administrative tasks as needed.
