Bay Dermatology and Cosmetic is seeking a Dermatology Biopsy Coordinator to manage the complete biopsy workflow, ensure accurate labeling and coordination with pathology labs, and communicate results to providers and patients. The role ensures HIPAA compliance and supports timely diagnosis and treatment planning.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant certification or clinical office experience preferred.
• EMR workflow proficiency (EMA preferred) and lab portal experience.
• Dermatology, oncology, or pathology experience is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Verify biopsy requisitions with complete description, location, history, and ICD-10 codes.
• Ensure specimens are labeled and packaged per CLIA and lab requirements.
• Coordinate daily specimen pickup or courier transfer to pathology labs.
• Maintain biopsy logs and tracking to avoid missed specimens or results.
• Monitor lab portals for pending and completed pathology results.
• Route results to ordering providers promptly and notify patients per protocol.
• Document patient communications in the EMR and schedule follow-up visits.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and assist in audits of biopsy tracking and follow-up.
• Collaborate with medical assistants and pathology to resolve questions or urgent results.
