Job summary

Computacenter AG & Co. oHG is seeking a Desktop Support Engineer to provide hands-on 2nd line IT support across a busy customer environment in Derby. You'll resolve incidents, fulfil service requests and ensure users receive a responsive, high-quality support experience.

The role covers incident handling, device and software installation, and coordination with Level 3 teams. Flexibility with hours and SC clearance may be required; a UK Driving Licence is preferred.

Qualifications

• Depth knowledge of Windows 10/11, build/config and registry settings.
• LTSC Channels and KIOSK experience desirable.
• Understanding of SCCM/Active Directory and ITSM basics.
• Networking with LAN/WAN/VLAN, Wi-Fi, DHCP, DNS/WINS, VPN.
• Microsoft Exchange, Outlook and messaging tools familiarity.
• Peripherals incl. printers, displays, docking stations, cameras and scanners.
• ITSM software experience with ServiceNow.
• Excellent customer interface and flexible hours.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• SC Cleared or willingness to obtain SC Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Handle incidents and service requests to SLA.
• 2nd line responsibility for incident resolution.
• Aim for <2% incidents per month.
• Complete tasks within allocated timeframes.
• Support internal and external project managers.
• Handle Non-Standard Requests within agreed timescales.
• Coordinate with Level 3 teams on major issues.
• Resolve technical issues for laptops, desktops, networks, printers.
• Install and configure software and hardware.
