Job summary

Computacenter is seeking an Onsite Desktop Support Engineer to provide hands-on technical support across a busy customer environment in Northallerton. You’ll resolve incidents, fulfill service requests and ensure users receive a responsive, high-quality support experience.

The role requires strong Windows 10/11 experience, basic SCCM/AD, networking knowledge, and ITSM tooling (ServiceNow). A Full UK Driving Licence and SC Clearance may be required.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Microsoft Windows 10/11 with build, configuration and registry knowledge.
• Basic understanding of SCCM and Active Directory.
• Networking knowledge including LAN/WAN, Wi‑Fi, DHCP, DNS and VPN access.
• Experience with Microsoft Exchange and Outlook configuration.
• Familiarity with ITSM concepts and ServiceNow usage.
• Excellent customer-facing communication and service skills.
• Flexible hours and on-site presence in a busy client environment.
• Hold a Full UK Driving Licence and be eligible for SC Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Undertake incident and request tasks to restore services quickly.
• Provide 2nd line support and resolve incidents to SLA targets.
• Maintain a <2% monthly incident rate target.
• Complete assigned work within defined timeframes.
• Support internal and external Project Managers on project tasks.
• Handle non-standard requests within agreed timescales.
• Coordinate with Level 3 teams to escalate major issues.
• Resolve hardware/software issues for laptops, desktops, printers, and networks.
