Job summary

The Oregon State Police, Oregon State Medical Examiner’s Office in Clackamas, Oregon, is hiring a Deputy State Medical Examiner – Clackamas. This full-time, permanent role conducts autopsies and medicolegal investigations as part of a six-pathologist team in a growing program with planned facilities expansion.

Requirements include an MD/DO, ABP forensic pathology certification or eligibility, and Oregon licensure or eligibility.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an approved school.
• Board certification or eligibility in anatomic or clinical/anatomic pathology from the ABP at time of hire.
• Board certification in forensic pathology within two years of hiring.

Responsibilities

• Perform autopsies and provide expert medical consultation.
• Share autopsy responsibilities with other Deputy State Medical Examiners, rotating coverage.
• Write autopsy and medicolegal reports.
