Job summary

State of Oregon is seeking a forensic pathology fellow to begin at our main facility in Clackamas, learning from senior pathologists before assigning a permanent role. The fellow will share autopsy duties with the State Medical Examiner, rotating weekends, nights, and holidays, and will train law enforcement and medicolegal staff as needed.

The position emphasizes work/life balance with paid vacation, sick leave, 11 holidays, and personal business leave, plus retirement and optional deferred

Qualifications

• Medical degree in pathology (MD/DO) and state license or eligibility.
• Familiarity with medicolegal death investigation preferred.
• Ability to teach pathology residents and investigators.

Responsibilities

• Perform autopsies and provide expert medical consultation.
• Write autopsy and other death investigation reports.
• Teach residents and investigators; participate in quality assurance.
• Occasionally participate in public outreach and policy work.
