Job summary

The Oregon State Police, Office of the State Medical Examiner in Central Point, Oregon is hiring for one (1) Full-Time, Permanent Deputy State Medical Examiner. This role requires an MD or DO degree, board certification (or eligible) in forensic pathology, and Oregon licensure at time of hire.

You will perform autopsies, provide expert medical consultation, and contribute to medicolegal investigations while aiding in teaching and program development. Relocation assistance and CME may be provided.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an approved medical school.
• Board certification or qualification for certification in anatomic or clinical/anatomic pathology.
• Licensed to practice medicine in Oregon or ability to obtain at hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform autopsies and provide expert medical consultation in appropriate cases.
• Share autopsy responsibilities with other Deputy State Medical Examiners, rotating coverage.
• Write autopsy and related reports for death investigations.
• Provide training to law enforcement, county medical examiners, DAs, and medicolegal investigators
