Job summary

M.C. Dean, Inc. is seeking a Deputy Project Leader/Manager to oversee electrical construction projects from initiation to close-out.

The role involves leading planning, scheduling, budgeting, and performance analysis for marquee facilities including amusement parks, rocket testing, and manufacturing sites. The candidate will coordinate bids, develop work plans, manage resources, maintain schedules, and ensure safety and quality across project phases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Math or Physics preferably from an ABET accredited program.
• 5+ years of experience in electrical construction with a Bachelor's degree.
• Working knowledge of MS Project or Primavera P6.
• Ability to create project schedules and schedule resources.
• Ability to estimate project work and prepare customer proposals.
• Understanding of critical path analysis and budgeting.
• Ability to discuss project and resource schedules with leadership.
• Knowledge of procurement processes and supplier evaluation.
• Ability to create technical docs and design references.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Team leadership experience and ability to build teams.
• Familiarity with the listed tools (MS Project/Primavera, Power BI, MS Project Server, MS Office, AutoCAD, EDMS, Visio, SharePoint, and estimation tools).

Responsibilities

• Perform administration, organization, and implementation of small electrical construction projects or parts of larger projects.
• Manage phases of a project lifecycle (proposal, design, solutioning, installation, close).
• Assist with preparation of project documentation (requirements, manpower, layout, schedules, equipment plans).
• Coordinate or lead project kick-off meetings.
• Develop Work Breakdown Structure with properly named work packages and resources.
• Assist with scheduling resources to maintain baseline schedule.
• Create baseline vs actual reporting of resources.
• Provide site surveys, cost studies, forecasts, cost codes, progress reports.
• Assist with progress data collection for self-perform and contractor work.
• Monitor scope, cost, schedule, and variances against plan.
• Develop and maintain project artifacts including shop drawings.
• Assist with major material acquisitions and equipment requirements.
• Assist with permits and inspections.
• Estimate, schedule, or consult with estimators and engineers on issues.
• Review project schedule with General Contractor/Customer.
• Integrate data from multiple company systems for insights on progress.
• Ensure timely completion of punch lists, as-built drawings, manuals, and training materials.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings, quality improvements, and best practices.
• Ensure safety regulations are followed.
