Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Deputy Design Manager to lead delivery of major transportation projects in the East Region. You will collaborate with senior leaders and technical experts, guiding multidisciplinary teams from pursuit through project completion.

The role emphasizes design-build delivery, client relationships, and team leadership, with opportunities to develop business development and project leadership skills within Jacobs’ transportation practice across the East Region.

Qualifications

• PE license required.
• Experience delivering transportation infrastructure projects including project or program management.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary project teams with clients, contractors and stakeholders.
• Experience with state or local transportation agencies.
• Familiarity with design-build, construction support or alternate delivery methods.
• Knowledge of transportation design standards and industry practices.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including technical writing.
• Willingness to support East Region transportation projects and pursuits.

Responsibilities

• Develop client relationships and assist with pursuits, proposals, and business development.
• Serve as a project/client contact to meet objectives and client expectations.
• Support delivery of large transportation projects using design-build and other delivery methods.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders.
• Assist in leading design development, documentation, and project deliverables.
• Help manage scope, schedules, budgets, staffing, and milestones.
• Support proposal development, planning, estimates, and resource coordination.
• Provide construction-phase support including RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and site visits.
• Contribute to Jacobs' quality standards and project requirements.
• Foster an inclusive, collaborative team environment and mentor early career professionals.
• Assist with recruiting and growth of the East Region transportation practice.
