Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Deputy Design Manager to help deliver complex transportation projects across the East Region. You will work with senior leaders and technical experts, expanding leadership skills while overseeing pursuit through project delivery.

Role involves coordinating multidisciplinary teams, client relationships, and adopting design-build or alternative delivery methods. Opportunity for growth toward Design Manager with exposure to large-scale infrastructure and business development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Experience delivering transportation infrastructure projects.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary project teams.
• Familiarity with design-build and alternative delivery methods.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support development of client relationships and pursuits, qualifications, interviews, and business development.
• Partner with project leadership as client contact to meet objectives.
• Support delivery of large transportation projects using design-build and other delivery methods.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders.
• Assist in leading the development of designs, technical documents, and deliverables.
• Help manage scope, schedules, budgets, staffing plans, and milestones.
• Support proposal development, project planning, and resource coordination.
• Provide construction-phase support such as RFIs, submittal reviews, and site visits.
• Contribute to project quality and adherence to Jacobs' standards.
• Foster an inclusive team environment and mentor early career professionals.
• Assist with recruiting and growth of Jacobs' transportation practice in the East Region.
