Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Deputy Design Manager to lead transportation projects across the East Region, guiding design-build and alternative delivery methods with multidisciplinary teams.

You will collaborate with project leaders, develop designs and deliverables, and manage scope, schedules, and budgets while mentoring early career professionals and expanding Jacobs' transportation practice in the East Region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field required.
• PE license required.
• Experience delivering transportation infrastructure projects, including program management.
• Experience coordinating with clients, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders.
• Familiarity with design-build, CM/GC, or progressive design-build delivery methods.
• Knowledge of transportation design standards and industry practices.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to support projects across the East Region.

Responsibilities

• Support development of client relationships, pursuits, and business development.
• Partner with project leadership as client contact to meet objectives.
• Support delivery of large transportation projects using design-build and other methods.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders.
• Assist in leading design development, technical docs, and deliverables.
• Help manage scope, schedules, budgets, staffing, and milestones.
• Support proposal development, project planning, and resource coordination.
• Provide construction-phase support including RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and site visits.
• Contribute to quality assurance and adherence to Jacobs' standards.
• Foster inclusive, collaborative environment; mentor early career professionals.
• Assist with recruiting and growing Jacobs' transportation practice in the East Region.
