The Commonwealth of Massachusetts seeks a Deputy Commissioner for Financial Aid, College Access, and Student Success to lead OSFA and the state financial aid programs, guiding policy and operations.

Reporting to the Commissioner, the Deputy Commissioner will drive equity-centered initiatives, collaborate with colleges, state agencies, and partners, and oversee modernization, strategy, and performance across 300,000+ students.

• Lead executive oversight for OSFA and state financial aid programs, including administration, service delivery, modernization, and risk management.
• Advise leadership on policies and investments affecting college affordability, access, persistence, and student success.
• Oversee financial aid operations, contracts, grants, vendors, and external partnerships with fiscal stewardship and accountability.
• Provide strategic leadership to align financial aid and affordability policies with learner-centered outcomes.
