Job summary

Planet Depos, LLC is seeking a Digital Court Reporter to be present at depositions, setting up and operating audio/video equipment and recording proceedings. The role includes logging speaker identifications and keywords to outline the digital recording.

The ideal candidate has some experience in the legal field, familiarity with A/V technology, and the ability to adapt to changing schedules, sometimes after hours. No relocation specified.

Qualifications

• Ideal candidate has some experience or knowledge of the legal industry.
• 2- or 4-year degree preferred.
• Comfort with A/V technologies and digital recording; professional appearance and client-facing experience.

Responsibilities

• Set up audio/video equipment quickly and professionally in new environments.
• Position and monitor microphone placement for optimal audio capture.
• Mix multiple audio tracks and monitor for interference on portable interfaces.
• Set white balance and exposure for various environments.
• Ensure video framing aligns with legal videography norms.
• Assist clients with audio, video, and technology issues in person or remotely.
• Develop understanding of departmental policy, legal field, and AV tech.
• Log key legal events: spellings, exhibits, objections.
• Swear in deponents and record testimony under oath.
• Maintain calm, neutral, and professional demeanor before, during, and after proceedings.
