Job summary

Meijer is hiring to support customers and communities through friendly, knowledgeable service at our stores in Ohio. You will help create an exceptional shopping experience, assist with daily team tasks, and drive sales while maintaining Meijer standards.

The role involves mentoring teammates, participating in training, and supporting scheduling, inventory, and health and safety practices to ensure smooth store operations and excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Passion for customer service and ability to engage with customers and teammates.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Retail or other customer service experience preferred.
• Creativity in problem solving and meeting sales goals.
• Ability to influence others and build rapport to create repeat business.

Responsibilities

• Engage customers to provide a positive shopping experience and checkout support.
• Communicate with team members and assign daily tasks.
• Mentor and coach teammates to exceed sales and service standards.
• Assist with training and cross-training to boost productivity.
• Assist with department scheduling to improve engagement and store performance.
• Ensure product freshness and proper rotation, dating, and pricing.
• Support food safety and safe operation practices.
• Lead in ordering, receiving, stocking, pricing and display where applicable.
• Foster an inclusive environment aligned with Meijer culture.
• Operate registers and handle cash when needed.
• Participate in period end inventories and support other duties as assigned.
