Job summary

MyCHN, a nonprofit health organization serving the Greater Houston area, is seeking a Dental Patient Service Specialist for Pearland Family Health Center. You will welcome patients, schedule and prepare appointments, manage records in OpenEMR, verify insurance, and assist with financial discussions to ensure a seamless patient experience.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year in dental front office, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 1 year of dental front office experience.
• Knowledge of dental scheduling and insurance verification.
• Experience using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a busy environment.
• Professional, positive, and patient-focused attitude.
• Preferred: Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Preferred: Experience with OpenEMR.
• Preferred: Knowledge of Good Faith Estimates and patient financial counseling.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and assist patients throughout their dental visit.

• Verify insurance coverage and collect patient payments.
• Provide Good Faith Estimates and explain financial responsibilities.
• Answer incoming calls and assist patients with inquiries.
• Coordinate with dental providers and clinical staff to ensure smooth operations.
• Deliver exceptional customer service both in person and over the phone.
• Support the front office in achieving an outstanding patient experience.
