Job summary

Great Expressions Dental Centers is seeking a Patient Coordinator in Florida to be the first point of contact for patients. You will greet patients, schedule visits, manage records, and handle general administrative tasks to ensure a smooth practice operation.

Dental experience is required. The role involves maintaining confidentiality, coordinating with staff, and handling insurance processes and payments while delivering excellent patient service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; healthcare admin certification is a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for patients and staff.
• Proficient with dental practice management software and MS Office.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail in patient records and financial transactions.
• Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and insurance processes desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide a warm and friendly welcome to patients as they arrive at the dental practice.
• Schedule appointments for patients, considering their preferences and the availability of dental staff.
• Confirm and remind patients about upcoming appointments via phone or other communication channels.
• Coordinate with dental staff to manage the appointment calendar efficiently.
• Collect and update patient information accurately, including personal details and medical history.
• Create and maintain patient records in the dental practice management system.
• Verify and update patient insurance information and collect co-pays/deductibles.
• Process insurance claims and coordinate with insurance providers for billing inquiries.
• Respond to patient inquiries via phone, email, or in person with service information.
• Provide pre-appointment instructions and ensure smooth patient flow in the reception area.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the reception area and coordinate with staff.
• Communicate effectively with dental hygienists, assistants, and dentists regarding patient arrivals or scheduling changes.
