Job summary

Comprehensive Dental Health, part of Dental Associates of Connecticut, is hiring a full-time Dental Hygienist in New Haven. We commit to a relaxed environment where patients feel welcome and cared for, and where teamwork supports high standards of care.

Your role includes performing prophylaxis, scaling, patient education, and precise charting, while upholding infection control and ADA guidelines; you will collaborate with dentists to deliver outstanding preventive care.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree from an accredited dental hygiene program.
• Valid CT RDH license.
• Ability to commute to New Haven, CT.
• Available to work 4–5 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Perform dental hygiene services incl prophylaxis, scaling & root planing, fluoride and sealants.
• Detect disease via oral cancer screening; assess gums for recession.
• Select materials/equipment based on patient’s oral health.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and postoperative care.
• Document hygiene services with vitals, histories, and charting.
• Sterilize equipment.
• Take x-rays as necessary per ADA guidelines.

Currently, we are looking for a full-time Dental Hygienist to join our family. Candidate should have a strong work-ethic and be a team player. Recent graduates and experienced providers are welcomed.

Specific Job Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

• Perform dental hygiene services and procedures, including dental prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, application of fluoride and sealants
• Detect disease by completing oral cancer screening; feeling and visually examining gums, using probes to locate periodontal disease and to assess levels of recession
• Selection of materials and equipment for dental hygiene visit by evaluating patient’s oral health
• Educate patients by giving oral hygiene and plaque control instructions and postoperative instructions
• Document dental hygiene services by recording vital signs, medical and dental histories, and charting in patient charts
• Sterilization of equipment
• Take x-rays as necessary and as recommended by the ADA

Requirements

• Valid license to practice in Connecticut (Registered Dental Hygienist, RDH)

• Available to work a total of 4-5 days per week within office hours. Specific shifts to be determined.
