Job summary

New London Dental Care in New London, CT is seeking a full-time Dental Hygienist. The role requires performing hygiene services, patient education, and periodic imaging in a supportive, patient-centered environment.

Ideal candidates hold an accredited RDH program degree, CT license, and strong communication skills with a team-oriented mindset. Office hours are Mon–Sat as listed, with benefits including a 401(k) plan and health insurance.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform dental hygiene services including prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, fluoride and sealants.
• Detect disease via oral cancer screening and periodontal assessment.
• Select materials for hygiene visit based on patient oral health.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and postoperative care.
• Document hygiene services in patient charts.
• Sterilize equipment and TAKE X-rays as needed per ADA guidance.

Currently, we are looking for a full-time Dental Hygienist to join our family. Candidate should have a strong work-ethic and be a team player. Recent graduates are welcomed!

Specific job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Perform dental hygiene services and procedures, including dental prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, application of fluoride and sealants
• Detect disease by completing oral cancer screening; feeling and visually examining gums, using probes to locate periodontal disease and to assess levels of recession
• Selection of materials and equipment for dental hygiene visit by evaluating patient’s oral health
• Educate patients by giving oral hygiene and plaque control instructions and postoperative instructions
• Document dental hygiene services by recording vital signs, medical and dental histories, and charting in patient charts
• Sterilization of equipment
• Take x-rays as necessary and as recommended by the ADA
