Job summary

Oxford Dental Group in Connecticut is seeking a Part-time Dental Hygienist to join our team. You will perform dental hygiene services, take x-rays, educate patients, and help maintain a relaxed, welcoming environment. Qualifications include an Associate’s degree in dental hygiene and valid Connecticut RDH license.

Strong communication and teamwork are essential; Dentrix Ascend experience is a plus. We offer flexible scheduling with Mon 7:30am–6pm, Wed 7:30am–5pm, and one Saturday per month

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree from an accredited dental hygiene program.
• Valid Connecticut RDH license to practice.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to follow outlined policies and guidelines.
• Professional and positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Perform dental hygiene services including prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, fluoride and sealants.
• Detect disease via oral cancer screening and periodontal assessment.
• Select materials and equipment based on patient’s needs.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care.
• Document hygiene services and patient histories in charts.
• Sterilize equipment and maintain infection control.
• Take X-rays as recommended by the ADA and office protocols.

Currently, we are looking for a Part-time Dental Hygienist to join our family. Candidate should have a strong work-ethic and be a team player. Recent graduates are welcomed!

Specific job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Perform dental hygiene services and procedures, including dental prophylaxis, scaling and root planning, application of fluoride and sealants
• Detect disease by completing oral cancer screening; feeling and visually examining gums, using probes to locate periodontal disease and to assess levels of recession
• Selection of materials and equipment for dental hygiene visit by evaluating patient’s oral health
• Educate patients by giving oral hygiene and plaque control instructions and postoperative instructions
• Document dental hygiene services by recording vital signs, medical and dental histories, and charting in patient charts
• Sterilization of equipment
• Take x-rays as necessary and as recommended by the ADA
