Job summary

Comprehensive Dental Health in New Haven, CT is seeking a full-time Dental Hygienist to join our Dental Associates of Connecticut family. You will provide preventive care in a welcoming, patient‑focused practice and collaborate with dentists across specialties to deliver high-quality care.

Candidates should hold an accredited RDH license, be reliable and team oriented, with strong communication skills. Experience with Dentrix is preferred.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Associate's degree from an accredited dental hygiene program.
• Valid Connecticut RDH license and ability to commute to New Haven.

Responsibilities

• Provide dental hygiene services including prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, fluoride and sealants.
• Detect disease via screening and gum health evaluation.
• Select materials and equipment based on patient needs.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and postoperative care.
• Document hygiene services in patient charts and histories.
• Sterilize equipment and maintain infection control.
• Take x-rays as needed per ADA recommendations.

We employ dentists in the specialties of general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, orthodontics, endodontics, periodontics, oral surgery and prosthodontics. Currently, we are looking for a full-time Dental Hygienist to join our family. Candidate should have a strong work-ethic and be a team player. Recent graduates and experienced providers are welcomed.

Specific job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Perform dental hygiene services and procedures, including dental prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, application of fluoride and sealants
• Detect disease by completing oral cancer screening; feeling and visually examining gums, using probes to locate periodontal disease and to assess levels of recession
• Selection of materials and equipment for dental hygiene visit by evaluating patient's oral health
• Educate patients by giving oral hygiene and plaque control instructions and postoperative instructions
• Document dental hygiene services by recording vital signs, medical and dental histories, and charting in patient charts
• Sterilization of equipment
• Take x-rays as necessary and as recommended by the ADA
