Job summary

Comprehensive Dental Health in New Haven, CT is seeking a full-time Dental Hygienist to join our caring team. A valid Connecticut RDH license and an associate’s degree in dental hygiene are required.

The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and a strong team player who can work 4–5 days per week during office hours. Responsibilities include prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, fluoride/sealants, patient education, taking X-rays, and maintaining records.

Responsibilities

• Perform dental hygiene services and procedures, including prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, fluoride and sealants.

• Educate patients on oral hygiene and postoperative care.
• Document hygiene services with vital signs, histories and charting.
• Sterilize equipment.
• Take X-rays as necessary per ADA guidance.

Currently, we are looking for a full-time Dental Hygienist to join our family. Candidate should have a strong work-ethic and be a team player. Recent graduates and experienced providers are welcomed.

Specific job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Perform dental hygiene services and procedures, including dental prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, application of fluoride and sealants
• Detect disease by completing oral cancer screening; feeling and visually examining gums, using probes to locate periodontal disease and to assess levels of recession
• Selection of materials and equipment for dental hygiene visit by evaluating patient’s oral health
• Educate patients by giving oral hygiene and plaque control instructions and postoperative instructions
• Document dental hygiene services by recording vital signs, medical and dental histories, and charting in patient charts
• Sterilization of equipment
• Take x-rays as necessary and as recommended by the ADA
