Job summary

Dental Associates of Connecticut in Danbury is seeking a highly motivated full-time Dental Hygienist to join our team. The role offers a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities to work with an experienced and enthusiastic team.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform dental hygiene services and procedures, including prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, fluoride and sealants.
• Detect disease by performing oral cancer screenings and assessing gums and periodontal status.
• Select materials and equipment for hygiene visits based on patient oral health.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and postoperative care.
• Document hygiene services by recording vital signs, histories, and charting.
• Prepare treatment rooms and ensure instruments are sterile.
• Take x-rays as necessary per ADA recommendations.

Currently, we are looking for a highly motivated and energetic full-time Dental Hygienist to join our family in Danbury. Candidate should have a strong work-ethic and be a team player. Recent graduates are welcomed!

Specific job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Perform dental hygiene services and procedures, including dental prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, application of fluoride and sealants
• Detect disease by completing oral cancer screening; feeling and visually examining gums, using probes to locate periodontal disease and to assess levels of recession
• Selection of materials and equipment for dental hygiene visit by evaluating patient’s oral health
• Educate patients by giving oral hygiene and plaque control instructions and postoperative instructions
• Document dental hygiene services by recording vital signs, medical and dental histories, and charting in patient charts
• Preparation of treatment rooms, ensuring instruments and equipment are sterile
• Breakdown of treatment rooms, ensuring all instruments are returned for sterilization promptly
• Take x-rays as necessary and as recommended by the ADA

Requirements

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven ability to follow outlined policies and guidelines
• Possess a professional and positive attitude
• Associate’s degree from an accredited dental hygiene program
• Valid license to practice in Connecticut (Registered Dental Hygienist, RDH)
