Job summary

Heartland Dental is seeking a Business Assistant to join our Temple, TX team. You will support front office operations, use Dentrix for scheduling and records, and manage patient and insurer communications. Prior dental invoicing and PHI handling are valued, with HIPAA training provided where needed.

Ideal candidates bring customer-focused service, strong organization, and a team-oriented mindset to help deliver excellent patient care and a smooth office workflow.

Qualifications

• Experience in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Access to PHI and HIPAA training; protect PHI and data safeguards.
• Experience with dental insurance claims and accounts receivable preferred.
• Familiarity with Dentrix or other dental software.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients entering the office.
• Manage front office duties: phones, mail, email; coordinate with patients and insurers.
• Utilize Dentrix for scheduling and records; coordinate appointments for multiple providers.
• File insurance claims and follow up on outstanding claims; verify benefits.
• Post insurance and patient payments and manage accounts receivable.
