Qualifications

• At least 1 year of customer service experience in a medical or dental setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Working knowledge of office systems, EHRs, and multi-line phone systems.
• Attention to detail with a patient-first mindset.
• Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and care.
• Preferred: experience with dental insurance and third-party payers (Medicaid, Medicare, commercial).

Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding customer service to patients, families, and community partners.
• Schedule appointments, confirm visits, and manage patient flow using OpenEMR.
• Register patients, update demographics, and ensure all documentation is complete and accurate.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA policies.
• Answer calls, triage patient needs, and route communications appropriately.
• Assist patients with insurance, payment plans, and Good Faith Estimates.
• Collect payments, post transactions, and reconcile daily cash drawer.
• Support both check-in and check-out processes, including follow-up scheduling.
• Maintain organized workspaces, waiting areas, and patient-facing environments.
• Address patient concerns professionally and escalate when needed.
