Job summary

Heartland Dental North Austin Medical Center seeks a Business Assistant to join our Austin team. The role supports front office operations and patient services in a patient-focused atmosphere, leveraging Dentrix for scheduling and records, and handling insurance verifications and claims.

You will work in a collaborative environment, assist in presenting treatment plans, and help optimize office workflow while upholding HIPAA and data safeguards.

Qualifications

• Experience in fast-paced, customer-centric environments.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Access to PHI requires HIPAA training and data safeguards.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients to create a positive first impression.
• Manage front office duties—answer phones, mail, and emails, and communicate with patients and insurance companies.
• Use Dentrix for scheduling and records; schedule and confirm appointments for multiple providers.
• File patient insurance claims and follow up on outstanding claims, verify benefits, and explain coverage.
• Post insurance and patient payments and process accounts receivable.
• Review treatment plan fees and payment options with patients.
• Partner with providers to implement Heartland Dental systems to optimize office potential.
