Job summary

Heartland Dental’s Riverview office is hiring a Dental Assistant to greet patients, review health histories, take x-rays, and support dentists with four‑handed dentistry. You will use Dentrix for scheduling and maintain safe, efficient patient flow.

The role emphasizes patient education, HIPAA awareness, and inventory management within a collaborative team environment at a Heartland Dental supported office.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
• Experience in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment.
• Dental assistant certification and/or x-ray certification as required by state act.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients from the start of their dental journey, and sustain patient comfort and education throughout treatment.
• Conduct a thorough review of the patient’s health history to provide quality care.
• Take and process x-rays and other diagnostic assessments (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography).
• Provide chairside assistance (four-handed dentistry) to dentists during procedures in accordance with state practice act.
• Utilize Dentrix for patient scheduling and record keeping.
• Prepare treatment rooms with safety protocols and following OSHA & CDC recommendations.
• Manage supply and inventory levels and place/expedite orders as needed.
• Partner with providers and team to implement Heartland Dental systems and maximize office workflow.
