Job summary

Heartland Dental is seeking an experienced Dental Assistant to join J & A Family Dentistry in Kyle, TX. The role requires familiarity with Dentrix, iTero 3D scanning, and fabrication of temporary crowns, with duties spanning patient education, health-history review, and four-handed chairside support.

You will maintain schedules, support safety protocols, manage supplies, and help optimize office workflow within a collaborative Heartland Dental system.

Qualifications

• Experience in a fast-paced, patient-centric dental office.
• Dental assistant certification and/or x-ray certification as required by state law.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients from the start of their dental journey, and ensure patient comfort and education throughout treatment.
• Review patient health history to ensure quality care.
• Take and process x-rays and other diagnostic assessments (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography).
• Provide chairside assistance (four-handed dentistry) to dentists during a wide range of procedures in accordance with state practice acts.
• Utilize Dentrix for scheduling and record keeping.
• Prepare treatment rooms with adherence to safety protocols and OSHA/CDC guidelines.
• Manage supply and inventory levels and place/expedite orders as needed.
• Collaborate with providers and team to implement Heartland Dental systems and maximize workflow.
